Okay so yesterday I was at a park in Yorba Linda, and the weirdest thing happened. We were playing Nerf guns (plastic guns that shoot foam darts) and we see this little ground squirrel just sitting there watching us. So my brother and his friends say, Oh let's shoot the squirrel!!! Goofing off and everything. So we shoot the dart at the little guy, laughing the whole time, when the squirrel just runs over, picks up the dart in his paws, and pops it in his mouth! We're all like, "What just happened?!?!" And then we all run chasing him, but of course with 8 kids chasing him he high-tails it. Too bad nobody got a picture....:) I guess this just shows how much wildlife is humanized in Southern California!
PS: Here's a cool article about ways ground squirrels evade capture by rattlesnakes:
PS. PS: Today is National Prayer Day!
